Can you get back braces at stores? Without a doctor checking it out and stuff?

You might be able to get it at a safety equipment store, but you're playing with fire by going around your dr, you don't wanna be doing that. it'll catch up to you eventually and it won't be good. You want to develop a trusting relationship with your dr and if he/she suspects that you're doing things around their back, it won't look good on your record. If I'm understanding this correctly -- you want to get a brace for your back at the store -- but your doctor doesn't think you need it even though you've been hurting for 4 years. Another answer would be to go to another dr and get a second opinion and let him know about your situation, he might be different toward your situation.
